Hancock County Fiscal Court was a recipient of the 2024 Kentucky Waste Tire Crumb Rubber/Tire-Derived Products Grant through the KY Energy and Environment Cabinet which helped fund the purchase of the recycled rubber parking blocks recently installed in Vastwood Park. Each parking block is made of 100% compounded recycled rubber from waste tires. Kentucky Division of Waste Management estimates Kentucky generates about 4 million waste tires each year. This grant provides financial assistance to projects that exhibit beneficial end-use of recycled tires therefore increasing the market for waste tires generated in Kentucky and encouraging better waste tire management in local communities across the Commonwealth.
Thank you to the Kentucky Waste Tire Crumb Rubber/Tire-Derived Products Grant Program and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet for your commitment to a brighter future for Kentuckians!
