Animal Shelter

Hancock County Animal Shelter will hold a stray dog for a minimum of 5 days to allow the owner time to reclaim the dog. After the 5-day stray hold expires, the dog will be available for adoption or rescue or humanely euthanized.

The dog warden only picks up dogs from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm on weekdays unless there is an emergency.
