Located on the third floor of the Old Court House, is the first established County funded archives in the State of Kentucky. Members of the Fiscal Court established the Archives in 1981 for the purpose of preserving the rich history of the county.
In the Archives are the records of the courts of the county. They include County, Circuit and District courts. These records date back to 1829, and are available to persons interested in research. There are also the loose case documents of marriage, divorce, lawsuits, deeds, murder cases, and many other types of court documents.
In the Archives Research Library are family histories and files, county census, histories, cemetery listings, and other books and files to help the researcher.
